Acceptance and your agreement with us
These Terms of Use are a binding legal agreement between you and App Studio LLC ("we", "us", "the operator"), the company that provides the Gemo app. This agreement is between you and App Studio LLC only - it is not with Apple, Google, or any app store, and those companies are not responsible for the app or its content. By downloading, accessing, or using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
- The app is licensed to you, not sold. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, subject to these terms.
- On Apple devices, Apple's App Store terms and the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement also apply, and the required minimum terms are summarized in the "Apple App Store terms" section below.
- If any term conflicts with a mandatory consumer-protection right in your country, that mandatory right prevails to the extent required by law.
Eligibility, age, and capacity
You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. Use by anyone under 13 is strictly prohibited. This applies to every way of using the app, including registering with an email and password, signing in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, and using the app as a guest. If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the app only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- By using the app you represent that you meet the minimum age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
- If you use the app on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.
Accounts and social sign-in
Some features require an account. You can register with an email and password or sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook. You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
- When you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, that provider's own terms and privacy policy also apply to that sign-in.
- If Facebook does not return an email address, the app may generate a placeholder email address so your account can function.
- You may browse some content as a guest, but guest use is limited and certain features require an account.
- Do not create an account to evade a ban, suspension, or other enforcement action; we may reclaim or remove such accounts.
- Do not create an account for someone else, impersonate another person, or share your account in a way that violates these terms.
Your content and the license you grant us
You keep ownership of the recipes, photos, comments, ratings, cooking notes, cooking-result photos, and other content you submit ("your content"). By submitting content, you grant App Studio LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, copy, display, reproduce, translate, adapt, publish, and distribute your content for the purposes of operating, promoting, improving, and protecting the app.
- Public content - such as published recipes, profile details, comments, ratings, and follower lists - is visible to other people, including people who do not have an account.
- Your content and related details (such as your display name, recipe titles, and short snippets) may be included in notifications sent to other users through push and in-app messages.
- This license continues for as long as is technically necessary even after you delete content or your account, because copies may remain in backups, caches, content-delivery storage, or with people who already received them.
- You can grant this license because we rely on it to run the app; we do not claim ownership of your content.
Your responsibility for your content
You are responsible for your content and must have all rights needed to submit it. Do not upload content that infringes another person's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights, and do not submit content you are not permitted to share. You represent that your content does not violate these terms or any applicable law.
AI recipe scanning (iPhone only)
On iPhone, the app offers an AI recipe-scanning feature that reads a photo of a recipe and turns it into a structured draft. This feature is available on iOS only and is not available on Android. When you scan a recipe, the photo is sent to a third-party AI provider (Google Gemini, or OpenRouter if we have configured it as a fallback) to read the text. The image is held only in server memory for that request and is not saved to our database or image storage.
- AI results can be wrong, incomplete, or misformatted. Always review and correct a scanned recipe before you rely on it, save it, or publish it.
- The feature is provided "as is", depends on third-party providers, and may be limited by usage quotas or temporarily unavailable.
- You are responsible for having the right to scan any recipe you submit and for the content you create from a scan.
Recipes, nutrition, allergens, and food safety
Recipes, nutrition estimates, ingredient details, allergen information, cooking times, and food-safety notes in the app - including anything produced by AI - are provided for general information only. They may be incomplete or inaccurate and are not medical, nutritional, allergy, dietary, or other professional advice.
- Always verify ingredients and nutrition yourself, read product labels, and follow safe food-handling and storage practices.
- Nutrition and allergen information is an estimate and is not guaranteed. If you have allergies, intolerances, medical conditions, or specific dietary needs, confirm the details independently and consult a qualified professional before relying on the app.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any health outcome, allergic reaction, illness, or injury resulting from recipes, ingredients, nutrition information, or food you prepare using the app.
Our intellectual property and your license to use the app
The app and everything we provide in it - including the software, design, layout, graphics, logos, trademarks, and our own content such as our ingredient database, taxonomy, nutrition data, and editorial recipes - are owned by App Studio LLC or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you only a limited, personal, non-commercial license to use the app and this content in the ways the app intends.
- Do not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, publicly display, or create derivative works from the app or our content except as the app allows or the law permits.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, or attempt to extract its source code, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law.
- All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by App Studio LLC and our licensors.
Copyright and intellectual-property complaints
If you believe content in the app infringes your copyright or other intellectual-property rights, email contact@appstudio.ge with a description of the right and the allegedly infringing content, enough detail for us to locate it in the app, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized and that the information you provide is accurate. We review valid notices, may remove the content, and may notify the person who posted it so they can respond. We may suspend or terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe.
Prohibited conduct
- Do not misuse the app, interfere with its operation or security, attempt unauthorized access, or bypass premium access or other controls.
- Do not scrape, harvest, or collect data from the app, or use bots or automated means, except as expressly permitted.
- Do not submit content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, defamatory, deceptive, spam, impersonating, sexually explicit, exploitative of children, or violent, or that promotes unsafe food practices, dangerous health claims, fraud, or malware.
- Do not upload viruses or harmful code, or use the app to harm, deceive, or violate the rights of others.
- Comply with all applicable laws when you use the app.
Objectionable content, reporting, and moderation
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You can report content or users from within the app, and we review reports and act on them - including by removing content and suspending or terminating accounts - typically within 24 hours of a valid report. We may remove content or restrict accounts at our reasonable discretion to protect users and comply with the law.
- User-to-user blocking is not yet available in the app. We plan to add blocking tools, and where such tools become available you may use them to limit interactions with another user.
- A report captures the reason, any details you provide, your identity as the reporter, and a reference to the reported content, and is shared with our moderators.
- Moderation decisions are made at our reasonable discretion, and nothing here creates an obligation to monitor all content.
Third-party services
The app relies on third-party service providers to function. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their actions, outages, or data handling. These providers include:
- Supabase (authentication and database).
- Cloudflare R2 (image storage and delivery).
- Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service (push notifications).
- Google Gemini, and conditionally OpenRouter (AI recipe scanning, iPhone only).
- RevenueCat and Apple (subscriptions and payments, iPhone only).
- Sentry (crash and diagnostic reporting).
- Apple, Google, and Meta (Facebook) (social sign-in).
Disclaimer of warranties
The app and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from a course of dealing or usage.
- We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
- We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content, including recipes, nutrition and allergen information, or AI-generated results.
- Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, App Studio LLC and its directors, employees, and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from your content, other users, third-party services, food preparation or health decisions, or unavailable features, even if we were advised of the possibility.
- Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 GEL.
- Because premium is free on Android and the app can be used without payment, this cap may be the only remedy available for free use of the app.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
- These limits are a fundamental part of the agreement between you and us.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless App Studio LLC and its directors, employees, and providers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal costs arising from your content, your use of the app, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or another person's rights. We may take over the defense of any matter subject to indemnification, and you agree to cooperate with us.
Changes to the app and these terms
We may update the app, add or remove features, or revise these terms. If we make material changes to these terms, we will take reasonable steps to notify you in the app, in Georgian and English, and we will update the effective date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app.
Termination and account deletion
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms or the law, or to protect users or the app.
- Deleting your account removes your access and deletes or anonymizes personal information associated with it, subject to the retention caveats below.
- Images you uploaded are stored on our content-delivery storage (Cloudflare R2) and are not currently deleted automatically when you delete content or your account, so image files may persist. Some related content records may also not be fully removed by automatic deletion, so we cannot promise complete erasure of all images and content.
- Copies of content that were public, shared, sent in notifications, or processed by third-party providers may continue to exist outside our control.
- Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription; see the Subscription Terms.
- Provisions that by their nature should survive - including the content license, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law - continue after termination.
Governing law, venue, and language
These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the competent courts of Tbilisi, Georgia have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country gives you other rights. The Georgian-language version of these terms is the controlling version; English and other translations are provided for convenience only.
General provisions
- Severability: if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
- Entire agreement: these terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the app and replace any prior understandings.
- No waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: you may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor or affiliate.
- Force majeure: we are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Notices: we may provide notices to you through the app or using the contact details associated with your account.
- Feedback: if you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without any obligation to you.
Apple App Store terms (iPhone only)
The following additional terms apply only when you use the app on an Apple device and are required by Apple. They are in addition to the rest of these terms. Apple's App Store Terms of Service and the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement also apply, and if there is any conflict, those Apple terms govern with respect to your use on Apple devices.
- This agreement is between you and App Studio LLC only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple grants you the right to use the app under the usage rules in the App Store Terms of Service, including for Family Sharing where enabled.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app; App Studio LLC is solely responsible for support as described in these terms.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, and any other claims are the responsibility of App Studio LLC.
- App Studio LLC, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer-protection claims.
- App Studio LLC, not Apple, is responsible for handling any third-party claim that the app or your use of it infringes that party's intellectual property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Community Guidelines
These guidelines apply to public profiles, recipes, photos, comments, ratings, reports, and any other content or interaction visible to other users.
Be respectful
- Do not harass, bully, threaten, shame, stalk, or target other people.
- Do not post hate speech or content attacking people based on protected characteristics such as nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
- Do not impersonate another person, brand, organization, moderator, or app representative.
Keep content safe and lawful
- Do not post sexually explicit content, child exploitation, graphic violence, instructions for illegal activity, or content that promotes self-harm or harm to others.
- Do not post malware, phishing, scams, spam, misleading promotions, fake engagement, or repetitive irrelevant content.
- Do not post private personal information about another person without permission.
Respect food safety
- Do not knowingly post dangerous cooking instructions, unsafe preservation methods, misleading allergy information, or medical claims presented as guaranteed treatment.
- Clearly identify ingredients that commonly raise allergy, dietary, or safety concerns when that information is important to the recipe.
Respect intellectual property
Only upload recipes, photos, text, and other materials you created or have permission to use. If you believe your rights were violated, contact support with enough information for us to review the issue.
Reporting and moderation
If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, use the app's reporting tools or contact support. We review reports and act on them, including by removing content and restricting or removing accounts, typically within 24 hours of a valid report. User-to-user blocking is not yet available in the app; it is planned, and where such tools become available you may use them to limit interactions with another user.
Enforcement
Enforcement may include removing content, limiting visibility, warning a user, restricting features, suspending an account, deleting an account, or reporting serious issues to appropriate authorities.
Subscription Terms
Gemo Premium unlocks extra features such as AI recipe scanning (iPhone only), collections, cooking history, and meal-plan reminders. How premium works depends on your platform.
iPhone: paid auto-renewable subscription
On iPhone, Gemo Premium ("Gemo Premium Monthly", product ID gemo_premium_monthly) is a paid auto-renewable subscription purchased through Apple and managed for us by RevenueCat.
- Price: approximately $1.99 USD / GEL 4.99 per month. The exact price is shown by Apple at the time of purchase and may vary by region and currency.
- Billing period: monthly.
- Free trial: new subscribers receive a 2-week free introductory trial. If you purchase a subscription, any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited.
- Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically each month unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Charge timing: your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the then-current price.
- Payment method: all charges are billed to your Apple ID account.
- Manage or cancel: you can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings on your device. Canceling stops future renewals but does not refund the current period.
- Price changes: if we change the subscription price, Apple will notify you and, where required, will ask for your consent before the new price takes effect.
Android: premium is free
On Android, Gemo Premium is provided free of charge. There are no in-app purchases and no paid subscription on Android, so there is nothing to bill, renew, or cancel. Some premium features differ by platform - for example, AI recipe scanning is available on iPhone only.
Refunds and restoring purchases (iPhone)
Payments and refunds on iPhone are handled by Apple under Apple's policies. We do not collect or store your payment or card details and cannot directly issue refunds for Apple purchases. If you have paid for premium and it is not showing, use the app's restore-purchases option where available, or email support@appstudio.ge.

The Gemo app is provided by App Studio LLC, registered in Georgia under registration ID 405844859 (LEPL National Agency of Public Registry), director Nika Choladze. App Studio LLC is the operator of the app and the data controller for your personal information.
